How long have you been coming to NCF? 1 year this August
What is your most challenging move in CrossFit? Anything with gymnastics. Also overhead squats.
What is your favorite CrossFit move? I love running, any sprint work that we do, box jumps and wall balls.
What are your future goals? I would love to keep competing, like with a team. And maybe in a couple of years, help take a team to Regionals. That would be fun.
What’s your favorite thing about Newberg CrossFit? The community. You get to hang out with people you love and get encouragement along the way. That’s the best part.
What was your reaction when Doug told you that you’d been chosen as our Spotlight Athlete? (laughs) I got really excited and was like, really? And then I had to get geared up to do the work out.
Although Keisha has only been a NCF member for less than a year, she has already made an impact on the people around her.
“I’m grateful she’s a part of our community. She brings so much energy and joy to the class. She’s fun and works so hard. She gives 100% and makes it look easy.”
“She’s competitive, tenacious, and strong. She’s also our sensitive and sweet CrossFit princess.” -Lori Johnson-Weber
“She is an extremely talented athlete but her humility transcends her talent. She is inspiring to be around. She encourages everyone and anyone else she is with. And of course, her contagious smile. I love that girl dearly and love that she’s part of our community.” -Kim McIntyre
“It’s great to coach Keisha because she’s competed at the highest levels in her previous sports so she knows what it takes to get there and is willing to put in the work. She’s truly one of the physically strongest women I’ve ever met and has just glimpsed her potential. That’s a pretty exciting prospect. The best part though, is that she has a great attitude about everything. She’s excited everyday to work hard and get better. That’s a champions mentality. What more can you ask for from any athlete that you coach? ” -Doug Hildreth
Congratulations Keisha on being our July Spotlight Athlete.
